Flower arrangement

Wanted to paint something bright in this gloomy weather. Arranged the flowers in a vase on an embroidered suzanna. Suzannas are beautifully embroidered pieces of cloth which can be used to add colour  around the house. Bought a few for myself in Tashkent.

Indian Dancer

                                                   Indian Dancer ( oil Painting)
Always was fascinated by the grace of classical Indian dancers. Wanted to capture that. Added the silhouette of Lord Nataraja and a street dancer in the background for effect!!!
This painting in oils was created very quickly. I took hardly a day to finish this. The jug in this painting has also been hand painted with ceramic paints. I used a little Zhel doll to make the painting interesting. But just my luck, someone stole this painting  at an event where we were exhibiting:(
Banaras ghats Oil painting
Saw a photo of the Benaras ghats in a coffee table book and got inspired
to paint using oils. I took a long time on this. Sometimes when I paint I am in a hurry to finish what I started but this one took a long time with long pauses in between.

Tillokari Madrassa 20x15cms(oil painting)

Registan in Samarkand is a cluster of three Madrassas. It was an absolute delight to have the  oppurtunity to visit this place.

Took a lot of photos and the central Madrassa called the Tillokari caught my fancy.

I just had to paint it!!!
Bazaar Scene 20 cm x 15 cm (Oil Painting)

The bazaars in the Central Asian cities are amazing. They should be in every tourist's itinerary. One gets an entire life style experience in one visit.

This painting was inspired by a bazaar in Tashkent. I wanted to capture the atmosphere.
