Tillokari Madrassa 20x15cms(oil painting)

Registan in Samarkand is a cluster of three Madrassas. It was an absolute delight to have the  oppurtunity to visit this place.

Took a lot of photos and the central Madrassa called the Tillokari caught my fancy.

I just had to paint it!!!
Bazaar Scene 20 cm x 15 cm (Oil Painting)

The bazaars in the Central Asian cities are amazing. They should be in every tourist's itinerary. One gets an entire life style experience in one visit.

This painting was inspired by a bazaar in Tashkent. I wanted to capture the atmosphere.

Buddhist Monks

Buddhist Monks 35 in x 25 in( Oil Painting)

Got inspired by a photograph I saw of young Buddhist monks . Chose a yellow background for a good contrast to the figures. Enjoyed doing this in three days.....let me know what you think of this!!!
I have always been fascinated with lines and what can be created with a mere pencil. At school, in the back benches my notebooks were always filled with drawings of everything that I found interesting. I have never had formal training in Art and am mostly self taught. I enjoy drawing with lead pencils, pastels and also paint with oils.

Going to add as many posts as possible.....So, lets begin the journey........
